Who We Are

Cahoot CIC is a collaborative consultancy supporting small charities, community organisations, and social enterprises. We help organisations plan clearly, secure funding, communicate with confidence, and strengthen their foundations through thoughtful, strategic support.

Mission

Cahoot CIC exists to deliver thoughtful, strategic consultancy and capacity building that empowers grassroots charities and social enterprises to thrive. We work alongside people who make a difference, offering clear structure, grounded support, and shared knowledge so organisations can grow sustainably, strengthen their impact, and feel confident in the path ahead.

Vision

A resilient, dynamic, and effective small charity sector where every grassroots organisation has the confidence, capacity, and long-term support it needs to maximise its social impact. We see a future where charities are strengthened through collaboration, empowered with the right tools and knowledge, and able to thrive sustainably within their communities.

Our Story

Cahoot CIC began with a simple belief: small charities deserve support that feels human, practical, and grounded in real understanding.

When Laura Patchett founded LB Charity Consulting, she saw how many grassroots organisations were delivering essential work while juggling pressures around funding, leadership, and planning. Her calm, clear approach resonated, and her work grew naturally through trust and recommendation.

As her work expanded, she collaborated closely with Daryl Bishop, a charity leader with deep experience in frontline services, mentoring, safeguarding, and organisational resilience. His reflective, steady presence strengthened the support Laura provided.

As demand grew, the need for dependable operations became clear. Tes Gamwells joined to manage workflow, communication, organisation, and client coordination. Her calm, structured approach created the systems that hold everything together.

Together, they formed Cahoot CIC: a consultancy built on collaboration, kindness, and practical impact. The name reflects how they work — in cahoots with charities, side by side, sharing knowledge openly and helping organisations move forward with clarity and confidence.
